Letter and clippings relating to John Rabone's study of Shakespeare [manuscript], 1883 November 25.

Contains 12 p. autograph letter signed from John Rabone, Birmingham, to unidentified recipient. He answers several questions from the recipient; mentions Friswell's Life portraits of Shakespeare; discusses portrait restoration and the Stratford or Hunt picture of Shakespeare. Letter is addressed "Dear Sir." On printed letterhead from Penderell House, Hamstead Road, Birmingham. (2) contains 5 newspaper clippings of articles on Shakespeare portraits, the bust and tomb of Shakespeare and lectures given by Rabone on the same topics, dated 1883. Three of the clippings have been pasted onto another sheet of paper and include manuscript annotations.
